September 16 Club Meeting – NB FD Program
Our guest speaker at the club meeting was Ashley Cammack, MIH Specialist from the New Braunfels Fire Department. Ashley runs the Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) program at the New Braunfels Fire Department.
The MIH program was developed by the New Braunfels Fire Department in partnership with the McKenna Foundation and the New Braunfels Professional Fire Fighters Association. It was launched in January 2024. Mobile Integrated Healthcare delivers community-based care by sending an MIH Specialist to visit with frequent users of 911 to understand their healthcare situation better. The program works with residents who historically utilize 9-1-1 for Fire/EMS on an above-average basis, inappropriately, or they are simply in need of services beyond the emergency response. And helping those residents access the appropriate needed resources.
