The fundraiser was held Saturday October 18 at the Sip n Putt in New Braunfels. Good attendance and many donations made this a very successful event.
The club co-hosted this event with the Kunkel family. Club members worked at our booth to register those attending and to sell raffle tickets, as well as promote our club and the Texas Lions Camp.
The total funds raised exceeded the original goal and a revised goal, for a total of $12204.
The wildfires in Lions District 2-T1 have caused a disaster in Canadian, Texas and other communities close by. Many homes and other properties have been destroyed by the fires and lives have been lost. The New Braunfels Senior Expo was held 29 April at the New Braunfels Civic Center. Our club participated with a booth to promote lionism and our club and to hand out Yellow Dot kits.
Another monthly class was held May 4th at the Westside Branch of the New Braunfels Public Library. 31 adults registered for the class. The project was to create a mosiac coaster. The dedicated group of volunteers helping with the May class included 9 new volunteers from the First United Methodist Church.
On Saturday May 9th, the local American Legion Auxiliary Unit 179 held a reception for the girls who will be attending this years Bluebonnet Girls State program, their parents, and their sponsors. The Special Olympics Texas Area Cycling Competition was held at the Tree of Life Church property on Saturday, April 18th. 4 club members volunteered to help with the race activities of timing and course monitoring.
