The fundraiser was held Saturday October 18 at the Sip n Putt in New Braunfels. Good attendance and many donations made this a very successful event.
The club co-hosted this event with the Kunkel family. Club members worked at our booth to register those attending and to sell raffle tickets, as well as promote our club and the Texas Lions Camp.
The total funds raised exceeded the original goal and a revised goal, for a total of $12204.
Members of our club traveled to the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville to present scholarships and travel stipends to camp counselors on Friday evening, July 17th. 3 scholarship awards (for US based counselors) and 3 travel stipend (for international based counselors) awards were presented to camp counselors that had been selected by the camp staff. …
The project for class participants at the October meeting of the Craft House was the Speed Racer, to create a model race car. More than 30 attended the class with 10 volunteers helping. The wildfires in Lions District 2-T1 have caused a disaster in Canadian, Texas and other communities close by. Many homes and other properties have been destroyed by the fires and lives have been lost.
