As it has become a tradition, our club provides a scholarship to Lions Camp counselors selected by the camp staff. On July 12th, members of our club traveled to the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville to attend the Awards Night and participate in the celebration. As part of the ceremonies a $1000 scholarship was awarded and presented by our club to each of 5 camp counselors.
Club member Daniel J. (DJ) Martinez sponsored the daughter of his good friends to attend the Texas Lions Camp. She attended the June 23 – 29 session for children with Down Syndrome. At the June 28 Awards Night, DJ joined with the family to celebrate.
This year our club is sponsoring 3 girls to attend the Bluebonnet Girls State program. They have just completed their junior year at John Paul II Catholic High School.
