As it has become a tradition, our club provides a scholarship to Lions Camp counselors selected by the camp staff. On July 12th, members of our club traveled to the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville to attend the Awards Night and participate in the celebration. As part of the ceremonies a $1000 scholarship was awarded and presented by our club to each of 5 camp counselors.
On Saturday June 1st club members met at RecoveryWerks! in New Braunfels to construct a gazebo for use by the clients and staff of the non-profit organization. Club member Daniel J. (DJ) Martinez sponsored the daughter of his good friends to attend the Texas Lions Camp. She attended the June 23 – 29 session for children with Down Syndrome. At the June 28 Awards Night, DJ joined with the family to celebrate.
Our club donated $1000 to the HOSA organization for future healthcare professionals at the Smithson Valley High School. Members from that HOSA organization volunteered to help us during our fundraising at Wurstfest 2024.

During our annual Awards and Installation Banquet in June, Melvin Jones Fellowship awards to Lion Joe Vasquez and Lion Glenn Herman were announced. Once the official award packages arrived, these were presented at club meetings to Joe and Glenn.
