As it has become a tradition, our club provides a scholarship to Lions Camp counselors selected by the camp staff. On July 12th, members of our club traveled to the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville to attend the Awards Night and participate in the celebration. As part of the ceremonies a $1000 scholarship was awarded and presented by our club to each of 5 camp counselors.
Our club is a sponsor of the New Braunfels Youth Lacrosse organization. Two of our newer members, Cortney and Amanda Kinnan, are involved in supporting the NBYL activities with their 2 sons, Cade and Decker, on the team. During our annual Awards and Installation Banquet in June, Melvin Jones Fellowship awards to Lion Joe Vasquez and Lion Glenn Herman were announced. Once the official award packages arrived, these were presented at club meetings to Joe and Glenn.
Lion Paul Drush, our club President, sponsored a boy and his family to attend the camp family session in June this summer. They were guests at our 4 September club meeting and told us about their wonderful experience at Lions Camp and their desire to attend again next summer.
Sally DeLeon became our newest member at the 21 February 2024 club meeting.
At our 19 February 2025 club meeting Monarch Chevron awards were presented to club members who have or will have achieved milestones in their long term service in Lions this year (1 July 2024 – 30 June 2025).
