The wildfires in Lions District 2-T1 have caused a disaster in Canadian, Texas and other communities close by. Many homes and other properties have been destroyed by the fires and lives have been lost.
At our club meeting on 6 March 2024, we approved a donation of $2000 to the Panhandle of Texas Lions Foundation to help with the disaster relief.
At its February meeting, our club board approved a donation of $500 to the McLane Community Arts Program (CAP). Members and Leaders of Scout Troop and Pack 163 helped us work the Opa parking lot last fall during Wurstfest. They were our guest at our 19 March 2025 club meeting. Each them talked about their part in this local scouting organization and expressed a desire to participate in other service projects we will have. …
Scouts and leaders from local Troop 119 again helped our club with our annual fund raiser at Wurstfest by participating in the operation of the Opa and Oma parking lot. Our club donated funds raised from the parking lot operation to the troop. Presentation of the donation was made at our 3 January club meeting.
On Saturday May 9th, the local American Legion Auxiliary Unit 179 held a reception for the girls who will be attending this years Bluebonnet Girls State program, their parents, and their sponsors.
