At our June 7th club meeting, chaplains Chris Siegle and John Howanstine discussed their role in the New Braunfels Police Department. Our club has donated a protective vest for the chaplains’ use during their interactive support in law enforcement events with the New Braunfels Police Department.
District 2-S3 held its annual convention April 19 and 20 in San Marcos. A donation was made to support the services provided by the Crisis Center during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. An additional donation of $150 to the Crisis Center was made in December.
During our annual Awards and Installation Banquet in June, Melvin Jones Fellowship awards to Lion Joe Vasquez and Lion Glenn Herman were announced. Once the official award packages arrived, these were presented at club meetings to Joe and Glenn.
As it has become a tradition, our club provides a scholarship to Lions Camp counselors selected by the camp staff. On July 12th, members of our club traveled to the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville to attend the Awards Night and participate in the celebration.
