As it has become a tradition, our club provides a scholarship to Lions Camp counselors selected by the camp staff.  On July 12th, members of our club traveled to the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville to attend the Awards Night and participate in the celebration.  As part of the ceremonies a $1000 scholarship was awarded and presented by our club to each of 5 camp counselors.
An orientation meeting for the girls and boys selected to attend the Bluebonnet Girls State and Texas Boys State this summer was held by the American Legion post 179 and post 35 on May 10, 2017.  The high school students were introduced to their sponsors who were presented certificates of appreciation. President elect Tom Matschek…

At the district convention on 13 May 2017, our club was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation for our service to the environment.
At our club meeting on 16 August 2023, Kimberly Smith was inducted as the newest member of our club.  Kimberly, a special ed teacher at Freiheit Elementary school, is sponsored by Lion Paul Drush.

This is the Lions’ pin collection of deceased member, Lion Dan Hutchison. His widow, Doris (her name is penciled on top of page 1 of roster), donated these to the club for their use. At a recent auction, one anonymous Lions member purchased the entire collection, with proceeds going directly to Texas Lions Camp.
