Service Project for New Braunfels Mobile Home Resident

District Governor Mike Smith requested support from the local clubs for New Braunfels resident Katie Philips who is disabled and in need of financial assistance. Katie recently was forced to relocate her mobile home when the previous mobile home park was sold. After relocating to a new park, her home was not in compliance with the latest city codes for porches and steps, and with fencing required by the new mobile home park.

New Braunfels Evening Lions Club President Grey Baker organized the task and the club purchased the materials. On Saturday March 19th, the Noon Lions Club teamed with the Evening Lions to build a new front porch and steps, a back porch and steps, and expand the fencing around the back of the mobile home. A couple of follow-up work sessions by the Evening Lions were made to satisfy a few items from the city inspectors.
