Donations and Grants made in Lion’s Year 2021-22

At our 16 March club meeting, representatives of the PAWS 4 Hearts organization talked about the goals of their charitable organization and serving the New Braunfels and surrounding area by providing therapy dogs for physical and emotional support. President Glenn Herman presents a check for our $500 donation to PAWS 4 Hearts.  

At our 3 January club meeting, our guest speaker was Jacob Huereca, CEO of the non-profit organization Connections.   Connections started in 1981 as an organization to support at-risk youth in Comal County and has expanded to serve 17 counties with counseling, prevention programming, an emergency children’s shelter and a youth transitional living program. Lion Bob Miller, chair of our Eyeglasses committee, has reported For April 2025 that 6 boxes containing 500 to 1000 eyeglasses have been collected and sent to the Midland facility. For March 2025 that“Delivered 3 boxes of glasses to the post office today. 100 credit to Marion Lions Club and 150 credit to NBE Lions. …
