On Sunday afternoon 16 April 2023 the annual Kindermasken Parade was held during Folkfest on the grounds of the New Braunfels Heritage Society.  Our club supported the Kindermasken Parade activity by providing a bag of treats to each participant in the parade.
A donation was made to support the services provided by the Crisis Center during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. An additional donation of $150 to the Crisis Center was made in December.
Club President Larry Kunkel presents Patsy Harlan and Cindy Helms with a $375 scholarship check for Texas Bluebonnet Girls State. Patsy is president and Cindy is a member of Unit 179 Auxiliary, Walton F. Hoffmann Memorial Post 179 of the American Legion.
Lion Grey Baker just devoted 2 1/2 consistent years SERVING others! How? He grew out his hair into a long, luxurious, if graying, PONY TAIL and recently donated it to Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces from such donations to financially disadvantaged children suffering from hair loss due to any diagnosis. On Saturday June 1st club members met at RecoveryWerks! in New Braunfels to construct a gazebo for use by the clients and staff of the non-profit organization.  The mission of RecoveryWerks! is “RecoveryWerks! provides proven recovery support services in a safe and nurturing environment for teens and families in rural communities affected by substance use….
Club member Daniel J. (DJ) Martinez sponsored the daughter of his good friends to attend the Texas Lions Camp. She attended the June 23 – 29 session for children with Down Syndrome. At the June 28 Awards Night, DJ joined with the family to celebrate.
