New Member

This is the Lions’ pin collection of deceased member, Lion Dan Hutchison.  His widow, Doris (her name is penciled on top of page 1 of roster), donated these to the club for their use.  At a recent auction, one anonymous Lions member purchased the entire collection, with proceeds going directly to Texas Lions Camp.

Financial assistance scholarships were awarded to six students in the Smithson Valley High School Debate Club, for them to attend a summer camp and further their knowledge and skills of debating.      

Club President Larry Kunkel presents Patsy Harlan and Cindy Helms with a $375 scholarship check for Texas Bluebonnet Girls State. Patsy is president and Cindy is a member of Unit 179 Auxiliary, Walton F. Hoffmann Memorial Post 179 of the American Legion.

At our October 16th meeting Laci Bird, a Behavioral Specialist at St. Judes Ranch for Children Texas, talked about the non profit organization and care they provide for children and families who have been affected by trauma, abuse and neglect.
