Club member Daniel J. (DJ) Martinez sponsored the daughter of his good friends to attend the Texas Lions Camp. She attended the June 23 – 29 session for children with Down Syndrome. At the June 28 Awards Night, DJ joined with the family to celebrate.
At our 4 November club meeting, Sondra Ajasin, Chief Executive Officer of TruLight127 Ministries, a non-profit, charitable organization, was our guest speaker. TruLight127 provides and facilitates foster care of children from abusive family environments. They cover an area including Kerrville, Hondo, San Marcos, Seguin as well as Comal County. On Saturday July 20th, our club assembled and installed a gazebo at the New Life Childrens Center near Canyon Lake. This is our third such gazebo project for our community this summer.

In February, while Lions were dining at their new meeting place, The Gruene Door, Lion Wib Amacher was surprised with a singing quartet of lovely ladies, and a delicious birthday cake – all in honor of his 96th birthday. Wib is a wonderful, energetic role model of a Lion and a true gentleman.
